This church was next to the hall at which my brother-in-law had his wedding reception. Linwood is a pretty small mid-Michigan town; a quaint place. The parish seems to be a fairly active one, based on the website. Outside of that, there’s little about its history that I have found.

St. Anne, as a building, seemed worthy of sharing here, but I would not claim it to be among the more striking or moving places of worship I have found. The tower is may favorite feature. I modified the photos a bit with pixlr-o-matic, which is always kind of fun when there is nothing particularly striking about the originals.
St Annes Catholic Church and St Annes Cemetery were built and started on land that was donated by the Edwin M. and Myra Seel Parsons in 1882. The Parsons were the predominant family of Linwood and basically owned almost the whole area. The church was the social center for the Village with Sunday School and meetings of the local chapter of the Michigan Agricultural Society and the Literary and Scientific Association.
